Lukaku Helping Both Chelsea And Everton With His Excellent Play

It looks like loaning Lukaku to Everton might have not been such a big mistake as first thought. The young Belgian international has really made an impression since the season started by scoring against Chelsea’s direct Premier League title competitors. According to Metro, the Blues managed to pull a pretty smart move when sending their player on loan. His contract forbids the 20 year old from performing when Everton face Chelsea. Many condemned Mourinho for not keeping the striker at Stamford Bridge especially after an excellent 2012-2013 season when he scored 17 times in 35 appearances for WBA. Even so, it seems Lukaku is still helping by leaving his mark on all the games against important teams such as Liverpool and Man City.

Everton are now 2 points ahead of United so it is expected that Lukaku will push to help keep the Merseysiders as close to top as possible. They are only one point away from City and have managed to make it up to 5th, only behind Liverpool on goal difference in the Premier League standings.

Lukaku is also looking to impress considering the World Cup is going to start at the end of the 2013-2014 season. The Belgium team has high hopes for Brazil and the 20 year old striker is one of the players that could help reach those goals.

Phil Jagielka recently spoke about Lukaku’s impact on the way Everton performs. Unsurprisingly the 31 year old center back said that the young Belgian international has not yet reached his full potential and his performances can only improve from now on. The youngster has scored 7 times in 10 games and has managed one assist. If he continues the same way he will surely help the Toffees make their way to either the Champions League or the Europa League.

Jagielka also praised his teammate’s attitude which according to him helps Lukaku improve the atmosphere amongst players no matter how bad things get. He is becoming more and more of a leader but unfortunately for Everton he will almost certainly return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
