Lukaku Eyeing Sweet Revenge Of Sorts

Lukaku Eyeing Sweet Revenge Of Sorts

The striker made the move to Goodison Park from Chelsea on Transfer Deadline Day. He was understandably upset at the last-minute manner of how the deal went through, as he was hoping for getting a breakthrough season at Chelsea following a highly productive spell at West Brom last season.

Everton play Chelsea today, which will see his current employers face off against his permanent employers. He will not be eligible to participate in the game against his parent club, and will be forced to watch the game from the sidelines.

That has not stopped him from making any sort of impact on the tie as he has personally confessed that he would like to see his parent club lose the game. ESPNFC report that he was asked the question “Do you want Everton to win on Saturday,” via Twitter to which he personally replied through his official Twitter handle, “Yes, I have to be honest.”

He further went on to describe the way how the deal was done in a haste, just hours before the window shut. “It was a crazy evening,” he said.

“I was sitting in my hotel room in Brussels when the phone went to tell me I was going out on loan again. It was 7 PM, and that was the first I knew of it. There had not been a mention of it before then, but after speaking to my parents, I decided to take the plunge.”

“I decided that Everton was the best choice. They are a more prominent club than West Brom where I had a good time. The important thing, at 20, is to be playing, and while West Brom was an option, Everton was a better one.”

Lukaku, clearly upset with the treatment of his transfer from Chelsea’s side, has now confessed that he would personally want them to lose to Everton. This could be seen as one way of going one up against his parent club, and earning a sweet revenge of sorts.

Do you see Lukaku’s statement acting as an external boost which will help Everton up their game against Chelsea to earn the three points?
