Luis Suarez Chews Ivanovic During The Clash Against Chelsea

Chelsea managed an excellent performance against Liverpool, but did not win because of Suarez’s late goal. This was not the Uruguayan’s only stand out moment. The Red’s striker had an awkward incident with Ivanovic during the 74th minute of the game when for no reason he bit the Blues’ defender. This is not the first time Suarez has reacted so inappropriately and he will certainly be suspended even though he apologized after the match. According to his Twitter account he acknowledged the fact that he made a mistake and that his actions are inexcusable. He also said that he called Ivanovic to apologize.

The incident happened in Chelsea’s box. The strange thing is that the ball had passed both Suarez and Ivanovic. Unfortunately for the Blues, none of the referees saw what happened and Liverpool’s striker did not even receive a card. The Serbian protested, but nothing happened. Even though the referee failed to take any action, the FA is determined to punish Suarez after carefully analyzing the video footage. This is not the first time the Uruguayan is subject to FA investigation. He was also involved in a scandal regarding racist behavior. During his years with Ajax he was also banned from seven fixtures after biting one of his adversaries. It is more than probable that Suarez will miss out on all four matches that remain from this years’ Premier League.

Accordign to Metro, Chelsea did not take a stand when it comes to Suarez. After the match, Benitez avoided giving any comments regarding what happened in the Blues’ box saying that he did not see the images and that he has not yet spoken to his players about what actually happened.

It was not Suarez’s night. He also conceded a penalty which gave Chelsea the opportunity to take the lead. The match would have probably ended with a 2-1 win for the Blues if the referee would have seen what Suarez did. He managed to score with just a couple of minutes before the final whistle.
