‘Low Key Saying His Farewells’ ‘He Should Have Gone Already’ Fans React As Chelsea Star Speaks Out About Life In London

Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic says he is very settled in England, despite rumours that he could leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

The Croatian international is closing in on the final year of his contract at the club and there is no indication that he will sign an extension. However, in a recent interview, the 28-year-old did express his love for London and the country in general:

“I am five years here already, time flies, and I have been at Chelsea the longest of all the clubs. I feel really, really at home. There is nothing to not love in London. My family enjoys it, which makes it easier for me. The food is okay, maybe not like Italy or Spain! But London is amazing. My son goes to nursery here in London, he enjoys it, the people are so nice. I can only say good things about London and England. We feel really great here.”

Kovacic’s comments could suggest that he is keen on remaining with Chelsea, but fans on Twitter are not so sure, with some even hoping that he is sold this summer:

Reports over the weekend suggested that Kovacic’s agents are in the UK to discuss the midfielder’s future. They are expected to hold discussions with the Blues but it has been claimed that talks have been scheduled with Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City as well.

With Chelsea needing to cut down the size of the squad, the Croatian may well be one of those sacrificed, so we shall see how this story develops.
