Chelsea midfielder Jorginho won’t be offered a new contract and will be allowed to leave the club at the end of the season, according to reports in the UK.
The Italian will have one year remaining on his current deal at Stamford Bridge this summer and it appears that the Blues have decided to sell him while they still can.
Fans on Twitter had a mixed reaction to the news. While the majority were pretty happy for Jorginho to be sold, quite a few are not so pleased:
Love him but time to go

I'm really not sure what to think. He's such a polarising figure amongst the chelsea fans. I personally like him, and can see what he brings to the team, but he also has clear weaknesses to his game. I'll be sad to see him go tbh. Genuinely unsure how much it'll affect us in game

Good news actually, he's been great over the years tho

If a good fee arrives I think it’s would be better for both parties to part ways js

It’s likely that Jorginho’s drop-off in form this campaign has played a significant part in the decision to let him go. He was superb for the majority of last season, and if he was still putting in those type of performances, it’s hard to believe that the Blues would consider offloading him.
The fact that he is now 30 years of age is also likely to be a contributing factor, and if a team in Italy (such as Juventus) come in for him with a decent offer, it may be something that suits all parties.
