Liverpool Join German Giants In Tracking Unsettled Chelsea Starlet

Liverpool have joined Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich in monitoring Callum Hudson-Odoi’s situation at Chelsea, according to reports in Germany.

The 18-year-old was the subject of a £35m bid from Bayern in the January transfer window, with the player said to have been keen to join the German club.

Hudson-Odoi remains on the Bundesliga giants’ radar, but the Blues will be very reluctant to let the player leave with the transfer ban still in place.

The big dilemma for Chelsea is that the winger’s current contract expires in 2020, and with no new deal looking close, he could leave for a much smaller fee in 15 months time.

The Blues would be given a good deal of compensation for a player under the age of 23 if he joins an English club after his contract expires. If he were to move to Germany, though, the amount would be tiny in comparison to the amount they could sell him for this summer.

Chelsea fans will be hoping that Hudson-Odoi is afforded a greater amount of game time between now and the end of the season; enough to persuade him to extend his contract at Stamford Bridge.
