Let’s Focus On The Champions League

Chelsea’s luck ran out in front of Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool who most probably sank Mourinho’s chances of actually conquering the Premier League trophy. There are a lot of downsides and a lot of negative things to point out after this losing 3 goals to 1 at home and probably only one good thing to stay with. The good thing is that Chelsea are free to focus on the Champions League where anything can happen still. The Special One needs to forget about this Saturday and focus on beating Dynamo Kiev who will be coming to Stamford Bridge this Wednesday. The biggest problem is not the fact that the club may miss out on all the trophies on the season; the biggest problem is that the team is not playing proper football. Aside from Willian and maybe Diego Costa, Chelsea don’t have much to show for. Hazard’s form is horrible for a player of his stature, Fabregas looks completely unmotivated and Terry seems to have blanked out after the incredible 12 months he had last season.

Most experts blame the poor form Chelsea are going through on a lack of fitness for a few players and a loss of form for some of the veterans neither of which were foreseen. The whole situation seems out of his hands though considering nothing really happened during the summer. There were no scandals, no problems at the club, nothing to predict such a disastrous couple of months. Hopefully Chelsea will go through the knockout stages of the Champions league and figure out during the competition’s winter pause, what needs to be done to bounce back from this lethargic state in which all the team’s key players seem to have fallen in.
