Leicester City Vs Chelsea: Match Preview & Injury News – Blues Could Be Without Six Players

Graham Potter’s Chelsea are gearing up for an away game against Leicester City on Saturday afternoon. Can the Blues continue their resurgent form, or will former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers bring them back down to Earth?

The Blues are expected to be without Armando Broja, Thiago Silva, N’Golo Kante and Eduoard Mendy for the game against the Foxes at the weekend. On top of this, Cesar Azpilicueta and Mason Mount are both major doubts. The pair are both out with moderately serious injuries – it appears unlikely that either of them will play against Leicester.

However, Chelsea fans can take solace in the fact that Reece James is back to full fitness, after he put in a marvellous display against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League and also played the full 90 minutes.

In their last Premier League game, Chelsea overcame a dogged Leeds United to win by a score of 1-0. The Whites didn’t make it easy, as they effectively stifled Chelsea’s attacking ranks – however, they could not keep out a headed effort from Wesley Fofana, which would prove to be the only goal of the game.

Meanwhile, Leicester fell to a disappointing defeat in their last league fixture, as they were beaten by a struggling Southampton outfit. It was a concerning day for the Foxes – not only were they beaten, they were also outplayed, as Carlos Alcaraz scored the sole goal of the afternoon.

Chelsea have a great opportunity to pick up another win here – a strong run of form could be just what Graham Potter needs to restore the fans’ confidence in him.
