Today see last year’s Premier League Champions taking on the team that may well be this season’s Champions. As we know last time out in the League Chelsea lost to Tottenham 2-0 at White Hart Lane thereby ending their 13 game winning streak. So as Antonio Conte says it is time to start another winning streak and they started that last weekend by beating Peterborough 4-1 in the FA Cup.

Looking at recent form between the two sides and you see that Leicester have not won in 8 of their last 9 games with Chelsea – drawing 1 and losing 7 games but it was this very fixture last year that Leicester pulled off their most recent win. Looking at the form, the Blues have won 3 of their last 4 away games at the King Power Stadium with Leicester winning only 1 match and 2 of Chelsea’s wins were actually delivered by former Blues boss Claudio Ranieri way back in 2002 and 2004 when he was the Stamford Bridge manager.

Top scorer Diego Costa has scored in 2 of his last 3 games played vs the Foxes although he did score both at Stamford Bridge so he will be looking to get back on the scoresheet after missing out last weekend in the FA Cup. The bad news for Leicester is that the Spanish striker has had a part in 11 goals in his last 11 Premier League appearances away from Stamford Bridge scoring 9 goals and assisting on 2 so that does not bode well for the Foxes.

Now that John Obi Mikel has left the club Chelsea will not be missing any players away on Africa Cup Of Nations duty whereas Leicester will be without key players in Riyad Mahrez, Islam Slimani and Daniel Amartey who have been a big part of the Foxes’ offence this season providing 9 goals and 6 assists between them.

We think that although Leicester are improving slightly Chelsea will have way too much for them particularly with their losses to the Africa Cup Of Nations and we think the Blues will come out on top 3-1.
