Leave Chelsea For Your Own Good – Hazard Advises De Bruyne

Young star, Kevin De Bruyne was snapped up by Chelsea in 2012 for a fee in the region of £7 million from Racing Genk, however was immediately loaned out to German outfit Werder Bremen in order to get him some good playing time. It helped his development majorly as he managed to score 10 goals in over 30 appearances during his stint in the Bundesliga.

He returned to Chelsea and the chances of him breaking into the club’s first-team setup were looking very high, given the fact that he shone in their pre-season tour and managed to impress incoming manager Jose Mourinho. It has sadly been a rude awakening form him as he has barely got any valuable playing time since, and has been frozen out of the team by Mourinho more often than not.

There is no doubt that the 22-year old possesses abundant talent, which is unfortunately being wasted on the bench at Stamford Bridge. Also, with the World Cup scheduled to take place next summer, every player will want to have an outstanding season with their respective clubs in order to ensure that they take part in this major event.

De Bruyne faces the risk of losing out if he wastes any more time on the bench, according to his Chelsea and Belgium national team-mate Eden Hazard. He feels that de Bruyne must in fact look for a move elsewhere, may it be temporary in order to get some playing time and get into his best shape ahead of next summer.

Eden Hazard spoke to Belgian newspaper Nieuwsblad with Metro reporting him as saying, “If he does not play, it is better for him to leave,”

“Playing a World Cup after having not played for a year is very difficult.”

“If we want to get the best from Kevin in the future it is better that he leaves. But he’s a big boy. He must make his own choices.”

Do you think de Bruyne must indeed listen to Hazard’s words of advice and look for a switch in January to seal his World Cup selection?
