Chelsea forward Timo Werner won’t feature against Turkey for Germany in a friendly this evening due to illness. The 24-year-old is, however, hoping to return to action when his national team play UEFA Nations League fixtures against Ukraine and Switzerland later this week.
Hakim Ziyech was controversially called up by Morocco despite having not made his competitive debut for Chelsea yet due to injury. The 27-year-old has been pictured back in training but he is currently wearing a knee brace, hinting he has yet to fully recover from the problem he picked up in a preseason friendly against Brighton last month.
Manager Frank Lampard’s only other injury concern at the moment is Billy Gilmour. The 19-year-old had surgery on his knee back in July and he is now expected to return to action sometime in November. Considering the length of time he has been sidelined, it is probably more likely that he’ll return to first-team action after the next international break.
