Latest Chelsea Injury Report: Updates On Pulisic, Kepa And Gilmour

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard confirmed after the 3-0 win against Burnley yesterday that Christian Pulisic was withdrawn from the starting line up for the game after concerns about a hamstring problem.

The American international pulled up during the warm-up ahead of the match at Turf Moor but Lampard was quick to pour cold water on claims that he could be set for another spell out with injury:

“He felt something on his hamstring. We tried to manage him in midweek, but we’ll see what happens in the next 24 hours. We’re talking minor, nothing serious.”

Pulisic has had his issues with hamstrings since arriving at the club but it does appear as though he was simply left out as a precaution. Timo Werner took his place in the team and duly got on the scoresheet so the decision not to risk him was justified.

In terms of other injuries, Kepa Arrizabalaga did not make the bench for the Burnley clash, with the Spaniard still suffering from a shoulder issue which has been causing him problems in recent weeks.

Billy Gilmour is now back in full training after completing his rehab following knee surgery. The midfielder is likely to return to first-team action after the next international break.
