Latest Chelsea Injury Report: Updates On Mount, Kante And Three Other Players

Mount applauding

Chelsea attacking midfielder Mason Mount was not included in the matchday squad for the defeat to Wolves after aggravating an injury.

The 24-year-old has been struggling with a problem with his public bone, and it appears that he won’t be available for selection in the short-term, with a return against Real Madrid on Wednesday night unlikely.

N’Golo Kante was also not involved on Saturday, but interim boss Frank Lampard has confirmed that the France international was simply being rested, having only recently returned from a lengthy injury layoff.

Thiago Silva should be closing in on his first-team comeback. The Brazilian picked up a knee problem in the defeat to Tottenham at the end of February and he was scheduled to be out for six weeks. We are now beyond that initial timeframe.

Captain Cesar Azpilicueta still hasn’t returned to fitness following a concussion, which is a concern. The Spaniard hasn’t played since the 1-0 defeat to Southampton almost two months ago. Armandro Broja (ACL), meanwhile, is out for the rest of the season.
