Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy picked up what looked like a knee injury midway through the first half against Brentford yesterday.
The Senegalese international played through the issue and completed the 90 minutes. Manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed after the game that the club’s number one had suffered no ill effects.
Christian Pulisic was not even included in the matchday squad for yesterday’s match, with the American suffering jet lag and fatigue after playing for the USA in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Callum Hudson-Odoi is suffering with two problems at the moment. In addition to a sore Achilles, he has also picked up a back injury so he’s unlike to be available to face Real Madrid on Wednesday. It remains to be seen if he’ll be back for the next league match against Southampton.
Ben Chilwell is back doing some light training work but Tuchel has dismissed claims that the left-back could return from an ACL injury before the end of the season.
