Latest Chelsea Injury Report: Updates On Kovacic, Barkley, Hudson Odoi And Chilwell

Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic picked up an ankle injury during the first half of the Blues’ 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at Wembley yesterday evening.

The Croatian landed awkwardly and he had to be replaced before halftime, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek taking his place. After the game, manager Thomas Tuchel expressed concern about the seriousness of the injury, but he said they were awaiting further examination to determine how long the player will be out for. He is, though, unlikely to face Arsenal on Wednesday night.

Ross Barkley was again missing from the matchday squad for the Palace game. The 28-year-old is usually a regular on the bench, but he has now missed two matches due to illness.

Callum Hudson Odoi is facing a battle to return before the end of the season. An Achilles problem has been causing the winger trouble and Tuchel has confirmed the 21-year-old could be sidelined for a number of weeks.

Ben Chilwell also remains out of contention, with the fullback expected to make his comeback from an ACL injury in time for pre-season.
