Latest Chelsea Injury Report: Updates On Kante, Hudson Odoi And Jorginho

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante suffered a minor hamstring injury whilst away on international duty with France. The 30-year-old played in the 1-1 draw against Ukraine last week but he has now returned to Cobham after it was deemed unlikely he’d be fit for the remaining World Cup qualifiers.

Callum Hudson-Odoi missed England Under 21’s 2-0 defeat to Portugal in the European Championships on Sunday due to a shoulder problem and he is a doubt for the Blues’ next match against West Brom this weekend, along with Kante.

Jorginho has also sat out Italy’s World Cup qualifiers so far due to a knee injury but the seriousness of the issue was played down by his agent last week, and he could be back in the squad on Saturday.

Edouard Mendy is expected to be fit for the Baggies clash, having missed international duty with Senegal to undergo a dental procedure. Thiago Silva should have had enough time to recover from a thigh injury but there are still question marks over Tammy Abraham, who has struggled to overcome an ankle problem.
