Latest Chelsea Injury Report: Updates On Christensen, Kovacic And Rudiger

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is hoping that Andreas Christensen won’t be out for too long after the Dane suffered a hamstring injury against Manchester City on Saturday.

The 25-year-old picked up the problem in the build-up to Raheem Sterling’s opening goal during the first half before he was replaced by Kurt Zouma. No estimate has been given on when the defender will make his comeback, but he is highly unlikely to be fit for the Arsenal game on Wednesday.

Mateo Kovacic could, however, return for the Gunners clash. The Croatian international is recovering from his own hamstring issue, and Tuchel says that it will be a close call on whether he will feature in the midweek fixture. The midfielder should, though, be ready for the FA Cup final on Saturday.

Antonio Rudiger has confirmed that he is playing with a broken jaw. The German international has been wearing a protective mask in recent games after picking up the facial injury in the closing stages of the semi-final first leg versus Real Madrid last month.
