Latest Chelsea Injury News: Updates On Pulisic, Kovacic, Gilmour And Havertz

There is growing concern regarding Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic’s fitness following the latest hamstring injury that the American international has picked up.

After pulling up in the warm-up before the 3-0 win over Burnley, it was initially thought that the 22-year-old would only be out for a brief time but manager Frank Lampard has confirmed the player is still not able to train due to discomfort. It remains to be seen whether he will be available after the international break.

In terms of other injuries, there was a slight concern when Mateo Kovacic was taken off in the second half in the 4-1 win against Sheffield United at the weekend. The Croatian looked to have picked up a knock but it was confirmed after the game, it was a tactical substitution.

Billy Gilmour says he is hopeful of being back in action very soon. The Scotland Under 21 international has not played this season after undergoing knee surgery but he is now training with the squad.

Kai Havertz has had to self-isolate after testing positive for the virus but he should be available for Chelsea’s next game against Newcastle later this month after missing out versus Rennes and Sheffield United.
