Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has confirmed that midfielder N’Golo Kante suffered a hamstring injury in the 3-0 win over Watford yesterday evening.

The Frenchman was replaced by Billy Gilmour on 78 minutes, and after the game, Lampard said the player will have a scan on the problem today. He is hoping it is a minor issue but he does not think that he’ll play against Crystal Palace on Tuesday.

Mateo Kovacic was already ruled out of the Watford match with an Achilles injury and the Croatian international is also likely to miss the trip to Selhurst Park.

Fikayo Tomori is slowly making his way back to full fitness. The centre-back has been out with a muscular problem since the restart.

However, Lampard has revealed that the defender will hopefully be returning to full training next week. In terms of when he’ll be back playing competitive matches, though, we may have to wait until closer to the end of the season.
