Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Reece James has been withdrawn from England duty as he looks to build up his fitness.
The right-back has not played since the 4-0 victory against Burnley earlier this month after picking up a fresh hamstring injury but he should be available for the Blues’ next match against Brentford.
Andreas Christensen did not feature in the 2-0 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday due to a muscular problem he picked up in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie against Lille last week. He should return to full training very soon.
Callum Hudson-Odoi has an ongoing Achilles problem which is being treated. Tuchel was hopeful to have him back for the Boro game but he was not in the matchday squad.
Saul Niguez has been sidelined with the virus but the 27-year-old will be back in contention for the first team after the international break.
