Latest Chelsea Injury News: Updates On Havertz, James, Fofana And 6 Other Players

Chelsea forward Kai Havertz has withdrawn from the Germany squad due to illness. While the 23-year-old started the 2-0 friendly win over Peru at the weekend, he won’t feature against Belgium on Tuesday night.

Reece James is another Blues player who had to pull out of international duty. The fullback came on as a late substitute in England’s 2-1 victory versus Italy last week but he wasn’t included in the matchday squad against Ukraine.

Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate has said the decision was taken to rest James as a precaution, with the defender feeling some tightness in his hamstrings. It remains to be seen whether he will be available to face either Aston Villa or Liverpool.

Wesley Fofana (hamstring) also has similar problems to James, and he did not even join up with France after suffering an injury setback late on in the 2-2 draw versus Everton.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (back), Raheem Sterling (hamstring), Thiago Silva (knee), Mason Mount (groin), Cesar Azpilicueta (concussion) and Armando Broja (knee) are still on the sidelines.
