Latest Chelsea Injury News: Updates On Christensen, Hudson Odoi, Kante And James

Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen has reportedly had surgery on a broken finger, but he is expected to be available for the trip to face Aston Villa this weekend.

The Danish international is said to have had splints inserted, although it shouldn’t affect his chances of being selected by manager Frank Lampard.

Callum Hudson-Odoi has not featured in either friendly against Reading or QPR due to an ankle injury, and it is highly unlikely that he’ll start at Villa Park on Sunday, with just a week to prove his fitness.

Unlike the England winger, N’Golo Kante has featured in both games, despite returning late to training following concerns over his health. He is almost certain to be in the matchday squad that travels to Birmingham.

Reece James has been out with a muscular problem, but the fullback did play against QPR and he will likely be in contention to start against Villa.
