Lampard Prepared To Offer £50m As Chelsea ‘Go In Hard’ To Secure Kepa Replacement

Chelsea will “go in hard” to sign Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson this summer, according to the Sun journalist Alan Nixon.

The reporter claims that Blues boss Frank Lampard would back the club making a huge offer of around £50m for the 23-year-old in order to secure the player’s services this summer.

Henderson is currently on loan at Sheffield United, where he has spent two seasons as the Blades’ number one, but with the keeper returning to Old Trafford at the end of the campaign, he will have a decision to make.

United see him as a long-term successor to David De Gea and are said to be looking at extending his stay beyond his current contract that expires in 2022.

However, Chelsea are hoping that the prospect of playing regular football at the highest level, and the knock-on effect that will have on him becoming England’s number one, will be enough to persuade him into moving to Stamford Bridge.
