Lampard Has Decided To Sell Two Chelsea Players Following Poor Preseasons

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has decided that both Tiemoue Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater can be sold during the transfer window, according to reports in the UK.

The Blues boss wanted to assess his options during the tour of Japan, but it seems the two midfielders have not made a good enough impression during matches and training sessions.

Drinkwater is likely to be difficult to offload with the 29-year-old having two years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge. Despite being frozen out by previous head coach Maurizio Sarri, he chose to stay and he’s unlikely to feature match under Lampard either.

Bakayoko, meanwhile, is likely to have some suitors. PSG’s sporting director Leonardo is a big fan of the Frenchman after signing him on loan for AC Milan last summer.

However, the Ligue One champions are closing in on a move for Everton’s Idrissa Gueye so that avenue may be blocked. It could, though, open up a move to Goodison Park instead with the Toffees reportedly interested in Bakayoko as a possible replacement for Gueye.
