Lampard Could Bring In Two Former Chelsea Stars As Backroom Staff Takes Shape

Prospective new Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is keen on making Didier Drogba part of his backroom staff, according to reports.

It is believed Juventus have agreed to pay compensation for Maurizio Sarri, paving the way for Lampard to take over at Stamford Bridge.

With his appointment looking more and more certain, Lampard is seemingly already looking at who he will bring in with him.

Another potential former player has also been name-checked as a possible addition to his coaching team.

Ex-midfielder Claude Makelele has left KAS Eupen after spending 18 months in charge of the Jupiler Pro League club.

The Frenchman helped the Belgian side to 12th position at the end of the regular season. They had finished 15th the previous campaign.

Whether Makelele will join Lampard, it remains to be seen, but it is likely that his assistant at Derby, Jody Morris, will make a return to the club.

Morris spent two years as Chelsea’s Under 18s manager and knows many of the youth team players coming through the ranks at Cobham.
