Lampard Considers Selling EIGHT Chelsea Stars As Part Of Squad Overhaul

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is weighing up dispensing with up to eight players at the end of the season, according to the Sun.

The Blues boss is reportedly pressing ahead with plans to overhaul the squad in the summer following the disappointing 3-0 home defeat to Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.

The most high profile stars whose futures are under threat include Kepa Arrizabalaga, Jorginho and Ross Barkley. The likes of Kurt Zouma, Emerson and Marcos Alonso are also expected to be offloaded. The final two are Willian and Pedro whose contracts expire in the summer and are unlikely to sign extensions.

Willian has already spoken out about the contract dispute which will likely see him leave Stamford Bridge after seven years. The Brazilian has revealed the issue relates to the length of the new deal:

“Chelsea offered me two years, and they are not going to change what they offered. I said I wanted three more years. The situation is difficult because of this, I really don’t know if it will be possible.”

“My goal is to continue working and focus on this remainder of the season so that Chelsea can continue winning the games for the remainder of the season.”

Hakim Ziyech’s arrival in the summer means the Blues already have one replacement lined up, but they will need to make a number of signings in order to compensate for the mass exodus.
