Chelsea legend Frank Lampard says that Eden Hazard is capable of reaching the same level as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Hazard is rated as one of the best players in the game, and many predict the Belgian can go on to become a Premier League legend similar to that of Frank Lampard. But being up there with the likes of Messi and Ronaldo is no easy feat, and it would be an achievement that only world class players could hope to boast.

The 26-year-old is still on his way back to full fitness after recovering from a ankle fracture, but managed to play half an hour of Chelsea’s 6-0 win over Qarabag in the Champions League. He will hope to be back to full fitness soon, and show the world once again what he is capable of doing.

Lampard, who is Chelsea’s all-time record goalscorer, says that Hazard possesses the ‘magic’ in order to reach the level of Messi and Ronaldo.

“A great plus today with [Eden] Hazard who came on at the weekend and came on again today,” Lampard told BT Sport.

“I feel that he’ll be involved at the weekend and going forward. He’s the magic in the Chelsea team.”

“If Eden Hazard’s on his game he’s got the magic that we talk about with the Messi’s and Ronaldo’s – he can get towards that level.”

Eden Hazard has yet another big season ahead of him for the Blues, and will then represent Belgium in the 2018 World Cup. If he can keep up the form that he has shown in previous years then there is no reason why the forward can’t be categorised alongside Messi and Ronaldo.
