Valencia left-back Jose Gaya is not interested in signing for Chelsea, according to Super Deporte. The Valencia-based newspaper reports that the Spanish international “neither knows or wants to know” about Chelsea and remains firmly in the dark about a possible transfer.
A report in the French press earlier this week suggested that the Blues were holding talks with Valencia and held a “real interest” in the 24-year-old, but it seems there is no basis to the claims.
Super Deporte contracted Gaya’s entourage to ascertain whether Chelsea were involved in any potential deal and they were told that the player knows nothing about the transfer and isn’t currently interested in moving clubs.
With the Blues currently subject to a transfer ban, any bid for the La Liga star would have had to come next summer, unless they had their embargo lifted earlier.
Emerson Palmieri’s excellent form means a move for Gaya or another left-back is unlikely to be the club’s priority anyway.
