La Liga Side Plot Loan Swoop For Wantaway Chelsea Star But Blues Demand A £31m Purchase Clause

Sevilla will try to sign Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko on loan this summer, according to reports in Spain.

The La Liga club’s sporting director Monchi is looking for a central midfielder, and he is considering four different players.

Fiorentina’s Jordan Veretout, Eibar’s Joan Jordan and Rennes’ Benjamin Bourigeaud are the other names that are on Sevilla’s shortlist.

Bakayoko is, though, a leading candidate with Chelsea said to be asking for a similar fee to when he was loaned out to AC Milan last summer.

The Blues would demand a €5m (£4.45m) loan fee and a €35m (£31m) purchase option. Such a price tag may well be difficult to achieve for Sevilla but they may try their luck.

In recent days, Bakayoko’s brother has confirmed that the Frenchman will be returning to Stamford Bridge after an ill-fated loan spell in Italy.

The player himself, though, has placed questions marks over whether he’ll remain in London after stating to the French media that he’d be keen to play for Paris Saint-Germain:

“Yes, for sure, one day I would like to play in Paris. I cannot lie about it. It’s big for me and my loved ones. We are real Parisians.”

“My future? Yes, I will go back to Chelsea. I still have a three-year contract. I have no choice. I don’t know what will happen after that but I have to go back to Chelsea. It is the only thing I know.”
