La Liga Heavyweights Look To Seal £50m Move For Chelsea Frontman

Atletico Madrid will look to step up their attempts to sign Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata on a permanent basis, according to reports in England.

The Blues are said to have given an ultimatum to the La Liga club about triggering their option to sign the Spaniard for £50m.

Morata is currently six months into an eighteen-month loan deal but they can sign the player permanently at any time.

Chelsea do, though, have a recall option which they are threatening to use this summer unless Atletico buy the striker.

It seems more likely than not that the Spanish side will come up with the funds to sign Morata rather than allowing him to go back to Stamford Bridge.

Although they have shelled out a huge fee on Benfica’s Joao Felix, they have €150m from the sales of Lucas Hernandez to Bayern Munich and Rodri to Manchester City.

Atletico are also expected to receive an additional €120m when Barcelona seal a move for Antoine Griezmann.
