LA Dodgers Owner Makes Chelsea ‘No.1 Target’ With £3bn Bid Likely To Be Made Next Year

LA Dodgers part-owner Todd Boehly is considering making a takeover bid for Chelsea, according to the Telegraph. The American billionaire is said to be planning a £3bn offer for the London club.

The 46-year-old has reportedly tried to buy Tottenham in the past but he has now made the Blues his “no.1 target” due to Roman Abramovich seemingly being open to selling up.

The Chelsea owner has received four bids in the last two years, but he is believed to be holding out for a figure around £3.74bn. The Russian has not been able to enter the UK due to issues over his visa application, and it has led to him reconsidering whether he should invest more in the club’s new stadium.

Planning permission on the current plans expire in the Spring, and it is said that Boehly will exploit the situation by making his offer then. The American is reportedly valued at nearly £5bn but it remains to be seen whether he has the funds to convince Abramovich.
