Kroos Move Blocked By Chelsea

German midfielder, Toni Kroos who scored a double in his country’s 7-1 demolition of Brazil in the World Cup semi-final, was strongly linked to Real Madrid. With rumors saying that he has signed a deal with the Spaniards, things looked set for the soon to be former player of Bayern. According to Metro though, Chelsea has blocked the transfer by offering the 24 year old a bigger salary and bigger bonuses. Even though the Blues’ offer is not too different as far as the two clubs go, it is more beneficial for the player. Kroos was expected to sign a contract with Real after returning from Brazil. With Germany advancing towards the final, talks could be postponed until the 14th of July when the winner of the World Cup will be decided.

Chelsea are looking to pay £19.9million for Kroos. He is expected to have a £125,000-a-week salary plus a lucrative bonus offer destined to make him change his mind about joining Real Madrid. The 24 year old was also linked to Manchester United who also want to bring in the German International. He is one of the most talented players up for grabs considering he is likely not going to stay with Bayern. Both Manchester and Chelsea have already made some big transfers with the Blues signing Fabregas who has a profile pretty similar to that of Kroos. Even so, Mourinho seems looks keen on making the most out of a situation which will not present itself again anytime soon. Players like Kroos are not very often available.
