Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel was right to be disappointed with the Blues only managing to get a draw against Manchester United on Thursday night. They were clearly the better side but it is still a point gained as they close in on Champions League qualification.
They will be facing an Everton side tomorrow with former manager Frank Lampard at the helm. The club legend has so far struggled to turn around the fortunes of the Toffees who are deep in relegation trouble.
In terms of the team, Chelsea are unlikely to make too many changes from the United match, with Edouard Mendy expected to keep his place in goal. However, depending on his fitness, Thiago Silva may need to be rested after playing only three days ago, so the fit-again Andreas Christensen could come back into the lineup. The Dane is likely to partner Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta in the centre of defence.
Reece James and Marcos Alonso performed well in the wingback positions at Old Trafford so they should retain their places. In midfield, Mateo Kovacic has returned to full training after an ankle problem, so he may come in to partner N’Golo Kante, with Jorginho missing out.
Up front, despite not being happy with their finishing against United, Tuchel may keep faith with the likes of Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Mason Mount.
Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Play Everton:
Mendy, James, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger, Alonso, Kante, Kovacic, Mount, Havertz, Werner
