Koulibaly, Mount And Chilwell To Start, Aubameyang And Pulisic On The Bench: Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Play Brighton

Chelsea manager Graham Potter will be returning to his old club this weekend when the Blues take on Brighton at the Amex.

The Seagulls haven’t won a match since new head coach Roberto De Zerbi took charge but they did cause Manchester City some problems last time out so this won’t be a walk in the park.

Kepa Arrizabalaga is expected to keep his place in goal, but there could be a change in the back three, with Kalidou Koulibaly coming in for Marc Cucurella. Trevoh Chalobah and Thiago Silva are likely to keep their places.

In the wingback positions, Potter may look to go a bit more conservative with his selections than he did against Salzburg. Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ben Chilwell may replace Christian Pulisic and Raheem Sterling.

Conor Gallagher should retain his spot after impressing midweek, while Jorginho will also stay in the eleven. Mateo Kovacic’s calf issue may force him out of the starting lineup so it could lead to a slight change of shape with Mason Mount returning to the team.

Potter may opt for a front three so Sterling could get the nod on the left wing, with Mount on the right. After scoring on Tuesday, Kai Havertz may retain his position, meaning that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could drop to the bench.

Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Face Brighton:

Kepa, Loftus-Cheek, Chalobah, Silva, Koulibaly, Chilwell, Gallagher, Jorginho, Mount, Havertz, Sterling
