Klopp Praises Three Chelsea Youngsters Who He Values At £60m Each

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised Christian Pulisic, Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount ahead of the Merseyside club’s game against Chelsea on Sunday.

The Reds were reportedly interested in Pulisic before he made his £58m switch to Stamford Bridge in January, and Klopp has said the American international is worth the money:

“[Pulisic] will be a proper player. He’s a talent, dynamic, good with both feet and a super-exciting player. A good signing. I’m not sure about the money, but he is a £50-£60m player.”

Klopp also rates two of his teammates just as highly:

“Now [Tammy] Abraham is worth £60m. Mason Mount, for sure, is worth more. They are a proper team and they are contenders for everything.”

Klopp does have a habit of talking up opponents before games, but there’s no doubt that the UEFA Super Cup final appearance would have influenced his thinking on the talent within the Chelsea squad.

Mount is touch and go to play due to an ankle injury, while Pulisic could well be named on the bench once again with manager Frank Lampard having preferred other options in recent games.

Abraham, however, is almost guaranteed to start after scoring seven goals in his last three league games. Following the Valencia defeat, the 21-year-old called on the team to take their anger out on Liverpool this weekend.
