Kante Singles Out The One Chelsea Starlet Who Has The “Biggest Potential”

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante believes Mason Mount is the player who is the most promising out of all the young talent currently in the Blues’ first-team squad.

The likes of Fikayo Tomori, Reece James, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Billy Gilmour have all featured for the first team this season, but Kante thinks Mount is the one who will go on to greater things:

“Out of all the Chelsea players, one player who has the biggest potential is Mason Mount. His combination play, his shooting technique, passing technique. How he sees the game. He could become a very good player.”

Mount started the season like a house of fire with four goals and two assists in his first ten league appearances, but his form has tapered off in recent weeks.

The attacking midfielder is still young and it is likely that the number of matches that the 20-year-old has had to play have taken their toll. TV pundit Jamie Redknapp has called on manager Frank Lampard to take him out of the side to give him rest so he can recharge.

However, in the long term, Mount’s potential should excite Chelsea supporters, especially after hearing Kante’s’ praise for the England international.
