Juventus Looking To Snap Up Overlooked Chelsea Defender

Juventus are keen on signing Chelsea fullback Emerson Palmieri, according to Tuttosport.

The Bianconeri are looking to strengthen on the left-hand side of defence with Alex Sandro the only player in the first-team squad who can naturally play in that position.

Juve’s only other option is Leonardo Spinazzola who has had a lengthy recovery from a knee ligament injury and will likely take time to recover his best form.

Tuttosport report that Emerson is Juventus’s favoured target to strengthen at left-back and Chelsea have reportedly offered the player to move on loan in exchange for not paying a €9m loan fee for Gonzalo Higuain.

Even if the Italian international is not included in the deal for the Argentinian striker, the Serie A side are still said to be interested in snapping up the defender.

Emerson has made just 18 appearances since moving from Roma for £18m last January, with both Antonio Conte and current manager Maurizio Sarri favouring Marcos Alonso as their first choice left-back.
