Juan Mata Tells England How to Win

Juan Mata has been in the Premier League long enough to get an idea about how English football is played. With the World Cup qualifiers almost finished, the Spaniard spoke about what he thinks England need to reach the final stages of the competition which will take place in Brazil during the summer of 2014. It is easy for Chelsea’s forward to express his opinion considering all of the English internationals come from the Premier League. That means they faced Mata or that they even play on the same team giving the 25 year old a pretty good idea of what Roy Hodgson’s team is all about.

The Blues’ player is also one of the most appropriate persons to ask when it comes to winning trophies with his national team. He has been part of Spain’s line-up since 2010 which means he won the both the World Cup and the European Football championship.

According to Metro, speaking ahead of the international matches, Mata is convinced England has the ability to reach the final stages of the Brazil competition but still has some doubts about their ability to win. The hosts seem the team to beat according to the Spaniard who will more than likely be called in to represent his country.

When asked about what he thinks the Three Lions team should do to win the World Cup, Mata responded by saying that talent is not enough when performing at such a high level. The team spirit and team relationships are the key to finding your way to success. According to Chelsea’s forward, England have not yet developed such a strong bond on the pitch mostly because they haven’t had much time to spend together unlike Spain who have used the same players for years.

Mata also spoke about Spain’s chances to win the World Cup two times in a row. He spoke highly of his team mates and also expressed how honored he feels being part of such an amazing group of people. According to him, Brazil are not the only team to look out for. Italy is also going to be a strong contender for the title.
