Journalist Names The Two Players Chelsea Will Consider ‘Cashing In’ On In Order To Secure Deal For Havertz

Chelsea will consider “cashing in” on Jorginho or N’Golo Kante in order to finance their move for Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Kai Havertz, according to the Mirror‘s chief football writer John Cross.

It is believed it will cost in excess of £70m to seal a deal for the German international, and the Blues will need funds from player sales after shelling out on Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.

Jorginho, in particular, has not started a game since the restart and the Italian could well be shipped back to Italy, with Juventus being long term admirers of the player.

However, Kante’s future is also far from secure. Manager Frank Lampard has stated consistently that the Frenchman is one of the club’s best players but his injury problems, combined with the emergence of Billy Gilmour, have made him far from indispensable.

Chelsea are said to be the favourites to sign Havertz but it appears they may have to sacrifice a high profile player in order to make the transfer happen.
