Journalist Confirms Potter ‘Wants To Sound Out’ 29 Year Old Striker About Sensational Return To Chelsea

Chelsea manager Graham Potter is open to Romelu Lukaku returning to Stamford Bridge next summer, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Writing in his Givemesport column, Jones claims that Potter “wants to sound out” the 29-year-old to ascertain whether there is any possibility that he would consider moving back to London.

Lukaku is currently on a season-long loan spell at Inter Milan but the Nerazzurri don’t have an option to buy the Belgian international, which means his future is very much in Chelsea’s hands still.

Jones says that the striker would prefer to remain in Italy so he can recapture his best form and that means Potter would probably have to do a lot of convincing if he really wants him back at Cobham.

The Blues are looking at other forward options. Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is believed to be a top target for the club’s recruitment team, while the likes of Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Lille’s Jonathan David are also being monitored.
