Journalist Confirms 30M Rated World Cup Winner Is “Willing To Join” Chelsea This Summer

Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard is “willing to join” Chelsea, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk.

Both the Blues and Manchester United have been linked with the World Cup winner in recent weeks and Falk says the 26-year-old is waiting to see whether Thomas Tuchel’s side make a “serious offer” for him before the transfer window closes:

Pavard is said to be available for around £30m, with the Frenchman reportedly open to leaving the Bundesliga champions following the arrival of Matthijs de Ligt at the Allianz Arena.

He can play as either a centre-back or full-back which would make him ideally suited to playing in Chelsea’s back three, but it is not believed he is top of the list of options that Tuchel is currently looking at to strengthen the defence.

Leicester’s Wesley Fofana is thought to be the main target at the moment, but he could cost considerably more than Pavard at around £70m.
