Jose Mourinho Comes Home To Chelsea

So today as reported by the BBC Chelsea Football Club have confirmed the reappointment of Jose Mourinho. The “Special One” returns to Chelsea for a second spell in charge and has signed a 4 year deal to manage the club this time around.

Mourinho will be replacing outgoing interim manager Rafa Benitez who led the West London club to a Europa League triumph against Benfica and to a 3rd place finish in the League. Benitez has just been hired as the new manager of Napoli but I really do not believe he will be missed as the clamouring for Mourinho’s reappointment has been incessant and now the wishes of the Chelsea massive have been satisfied.

Mourinho will officially be announced as Chelsea manager at a full-blown press conference next week where it will also be confirmed that the Portuguese manager will be bringing with him coaches Jose Morais, Silvino Louro and Rui Faria.

Last time during his stint in charge, Mourinho won two Premiership titles, one FA Cup and two League Cups but did not win the Champions League something that he will no doubt be looking to put right this time around.

Speaking to Chelsea TV, Mourinho said, “I promise exactly the same things I promised in 2004, with this difference to help – which is I’m one of you.”

He went on to say “In football, in my career I’ve had two great passions, Inter and Chelsea, and Chelsea is more than important for me.”

So the “Special One” IS BACK and the Barclays Premier League will be a much better place with him around again. Not surprisingly Chelsea are now quoted as the new favourites for the title – that is Mourinho power for you!!
