Jorginho Vows To Change People’s Minds About Him At Chelsea

Chelsea holding midfielder Jorginho says he is aware of the criticism from fans on social media regarding his performances this season.

Since joining the Blues from Napoli for £50m in the summer, the Italian international has struggled to win over a section of supporters.

When asked about the criticism he has received, Jorginho said he was keen to win over doubters by doing his talking on the pitch:

“With technology, we see everything [said about us] — and very quickly. The important thing is to know how to deal with the situation.

“I am calm because fans are like that: when you don’t win, they complain. They have the right to complain, but I remained calm.

“I will continue to do my job and, without doubt, I believe I can show my worth and change their minds.”

The 27-year-old recently reached an unwanted milestone by breaking the Premier League record for the most passes without an assist.

However, his deep-lying role means he is highly unlikely to be best placed for laying on goals and creating opportunities for his teammates.

In Maurizio Sarri’s system, Jorginho’s main function is to dictate the pace of the game when the Blues have possession of the ball.

Unfortunately, teams have targeted him in recent months with Sarri so far having been unable to adjust his tactics in order to protect him.
