Jorginho opens up on ‘wonderful’ start to life at Chelsea

Jorginho says he is throughly enjoying life in the Premier League after his brilliant start at Chelsea.

The Italy international joined the Blues in the summer from Napoli, and has wasted little time in establishing himself as a key figure at Stamford Bridge.

The midfielder opened his account for the Blues on the opening day of the season in a 3-0 win versus Huddersfield, and set a new passing record against Newcastle two weeks later as Maurizio Sarri’s side continued their unbeaten start to the season.

“The Premier League is really nice, it’s wonderful,” he said.

“It is also quite difficult to explain certain things. You need to experience them personally to take it all in. I enjoy the high tempo of the matches and the fact that all the players get involved 100 per cent in the games.”

Jorginho spent five seasons in Italy with Napoli, three of which were with Maurizio Sarri, who also left the Partenopei for Stamford Bridge this summer.

But while the 26-year-old midfielder insists there are big differences between the two divisions, he also says Sarri still continues to implement the same style of management – his famous ‘Sarriball’.

“Sarri is enjoying his adventure in England but he’s not changing much, he’s sticking to his habits.”
