Jorginho And Mount To Start, Lukaku On The Bench: Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Play Liverpool

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is likely to pick Kepa Arrizabalaga ahead of Edouard Mendy in goal for the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool tomorrow afternoon.

Reece James is fit again but it would be a big risk to start him for the first time in two months so Cesar Azpilicueta could be deployed as the right wingback, with Marcos Alonso on the other side. Andreas Christensen, Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger are expected to make up the back three.

In midfield, Mateo Kovacic is back in full training, but Tuchel could opt to start Jorginho alongside N’Golo Kante, with the Italian having been an unused substitute for the clash against Lille in midweek.

Up front, Mason Mount is back available and he may be selected ahead of Hakim Ziyech, who did pick up a knock on Tuesday evening, with Christian Pulisic on the other wing.

The big decision for Tuchel will be whether to recall Romelu Lukaku. Kai Havertz’s excellent performance versus Lille suggests the German will keep his place.

Chelsea’s Predicted XI To Face Liverpool:

Kepa, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Silva, Rudiger, Alonso, Kante, Jorginho, Mount, Havertz, Pulisic
