Johnson Names The Two Chelsea Stars Who Could Have “An Absolute Field Day” Against Spurs

Former Chelsea fullback Glen Johnson believes Romelu Lukaku and Hakim Ziyech could well enjoy themselves when they take on a depleted Spurs team this evening.

There are doubts over the availability of Davinson Sanchez, Cristian Romero and Eric Dier heading into the game, while Japhet Tanganga is suspended after his sending off against Crystal Palace last weekend.

Johnson feels that Chelsea could well take advantage of Nuno Espirito Santo’s weakened backline, and he thinks both Lukaku and Ziyech could come to the fore:

“I can’t see past Chelsea with this result. I think Lukaku and players like Ziyech will have an absolute field day against Tottenham’s defence, unfortunately for them.”

While, it is no surprise that Johnson is tipping Lukaku to have another excellent game, his decision to mention Ziyech will raise a few eyebrows. The Moroccan has been a bit-part player for the Blues so far this season, having started just one Premier League game.

He did impress in the UEFA Super Cup final last month but, since then, he has flattered to deceive when he’s been given chances by manager Thomas Tuchel. We shall see if he gets another start tonight.
