Ivorian Ace’s Brother Speaks Out On Whether Chelsea Will Trigger £18m Purchase

The agent and brother of Sassuolo winger Jeremie Boga says he remains in the dark over whether Chelsea will use their buyback option to re-sign the Ivorian international.

The Blues sold the 23-year-old for €3m last summer but they inserted a clause which means they can re-sign him for €20m (£18m) if they choose to do so.

Daniel Boga claims Chelsea have yet to inform him about their plans for the Ivorian but he has already been speaking to other clubs in Italy about a potential transfer:

“At this moment, I really couldn’t say. I had talks with Napoli, Atalanta and other European clubs. I haven’t had contact with Milan yet, so I don’t know if the reports of their interest in Jeremie are accurate.”

The winger has certainly had a decent season for Sassuolo, having bagged eight goals and provided four assists in 25 appearances.

However, they are not the sort of numbers which would necessarily lead to Chelsea wanting him back at Stamford Bridge. They have already signed one winger in Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech, while the likes of Jadon Sancho and Philippe Coutinho are also said to be on the club’s radar.
