Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi had a very productive international break. The 20-year-old scored for England’s Under 21s in the 5-0 win over Albania, helping his country qualify for the European Under 21 Championships next summer.
His club form has been slightly more subdued, having scored two goals in nine appearances this season, with only four starts, but supporters on Twitter have been calling on manager Frank Lampard to give the player more opportunities to shine:
It just a matter of time before he starts, the way things are going he will get enuh playing time this season.

I believe in Callum. He can do some damage to opponents if given minutes. He is a very direct player

I need to see CHO and Chilwell linking up on the LW.
And imo CHO's best/most complete game in a chelsea shirt came against newcastle around this time last year too.

Right now he is buzzing with confidence, and he is our best winger (after Pulisic or Ziyech), if one of them are injured Callum plays ASAP.

He still needs more sharpness in his game. Super Frankie is handling him the proper way. A few more 30-40 mins a game would push him to his best. I believe he will be back on all those golden boy lists where he is being disrespected now a lot.

Lamps must really learn to rotate such players to achieve a great season

We’ve got three games from this weekend to the next weekend. I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts in at least one of them.
He should get sufficient minutes as the fixtures are obviously starting to pile up now as it’s the winter period.

There is a lot of competition for places and Hudson-Odoi will need to fight off the likes of Timo Werner, Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech for a starting role. Currently, it appears Lampard doesn’t believe the winger is doing enough to warrant inclusion from the start of games.
The likelihood of him being named in the eleven against Newcastle tomorrow is quite low, with the front three of Werner, Tammy Abraham and Ziyech being Lampard’s go-to forward line at the moment.
