It could be ‘time for something different’ says Chelsea’s Eden Hazard amidst Real Madrid rumours

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has dropped a huge hint that he will leave Stamford Bridge this summer after saying that “it might be time to discover something different” next season.

The Belgian forward has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in the coming months, and has spoken of his desire ti play at the Bernabeu at some stage in his career.

Hazard also declined the opportunity to extend his contract with Chelsea beyond its current 2020 expiry date, insisting he will wait on the future of former manager Antonio Conte’s future to be decided, as well as the club’s movements in the transfer market this summer.

And only days after Conte was released from his role at Stamford Bridge and replaced with Maurizio Sarri, Hazard as dropped a huge hint that his time in South West London may have come to an end.

“Honestly, I will go on holiday and ask myself the right questions,” said Hazard, who has claimed two Premier League titles, a Europa League, a League Cup and an FA Cup over his time at the club.

“After six wonderful years at Chelsea it might be time to discover something different. I can decide if I want to stay or go, but Chelsea will make the final decision if they want to let me go.

“For my career, certainly after this World Cup, I’m at a moment where I might change. We all know that I’ve always felt well at Chelsea, so … I’ve been linked to all the big clubs. Next week it will be Bayern. No, I’m joking. You all know my preferred destination.”

Hazard is expected to command a club record fee of over £100 million should he leave Chelsea this summer.
