Chelsea attacking midfielder Mason Mount has had the second most key passes of any player below the age of 23 in Europe’s top five leagues over the last two years.
The 22-year-old was behind Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold on the list, with Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho also making the top five.
Mount has been criticised by some sections of the fanbase for his lack of creativity but supporters on Twitter feel that it is an area of his game that is criminally underrated:
He's headed right to the top

Still don’t understand MountOut yet

The reason why most people don’t rate Mounts creativity is because he doesn’t do much of the traditional lofted through passes over the top of opponents defenses. They fail to understand that creating chances is not tied to only lofted through passes, Hazard is a perfect example.

Mount has consistently defied expectations since breaking through into the first team under manager Frank Lampard. Many felt that the arrival of players like Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech would reduce his game time.
However, Mount has more than stood up to the challenge and he has developed even further during Thomas Tuchel’s reign as head coach. The incredible thing about the England international is that, despite having an excellent all-round game already, there is still room for him to improve further over the next few years.
